Immersive Edge - A Hypergrid Story

This coming weekend (Nov. 7, 2015) the brand new Immersive Edge Hypergrid Story project goes live to the public. As one of the many people who collaborated on the project, I'm eager to hear how the visitors respond to the work of so many creative participants.

Today, the teaser video was released for the scene I developed - Scene Seven.
Presented to me as a "brief respite from adversity...the calm before the storm where Dylan and Namaka get to spend some quality time together" it was a challenge to remain within the story's PG requirements while still injecting a sense of romance and sensuality to it.

I decided to approach it with an almost snap-shot abstraction, coupling static chrome with reminiscences that were an interesting exercise in writing. It's pure dialog with no "he said, she said" or other scene-setting narrative, intended to furthered the plot goals desired for the scene's lead-in to the final chapters of the story.

You can find all the information you might want about Immersive Edge on the project's main website and I encourage people to visit the entire 9-region exhibit which features some startlingly beautiful and innovative work from many talented artists.

This weekend's opening also features four presentations (two and Saturday, two on Sunday) and guide-assisted tours of the story. Details and schedules are on the website.

I'll be hosting an after-party on Sunday at 6pm grid time at my Hedonism dance club (RefugeGrid.com:8002:Hedonism) for anyone who'd like to come and unwind after a busy weekend.

Looking forward to seeing many of you there.
